WALLA WALLA--There's a boom in business openings in Walla Walla.

This, after a string of others closed their doors just six-months ago.

The Walla Walla Bread Company opened last month.

Jacobi Café took over the Destination Grill's empty building.

The Pita Pit should open in September with some swanky digs at the old "Luscious By Nature" building.

Later this fall, Walla Walla's first late night bar called the "Red Monkey".

"It is clearly slow times for us for the economy, but I think people are starting to see light at the end of the tunnel and again Walla Walla has always been an attractive place to open a business," Michael Davidson from Tourism Walla Walla said.

"Tourism Walla Walla" also told Action News that rent is cheaper right now so businesses are taking advantage.
