180 New RV Jobs In Pendleton
By Kyle Trompeter
PENDLETON - The people of Pendleton have been waiting on a sunny day for some time now. It's been very bleak as the people who used to work at Fleetwood sure know. However, the night is always darkest before the dawn, and the dawn is coming.
“Pendleton is definitely open for business. Pendleton is experiencing a recent renaissance if you would,” said Pendleton’s Economic Development Director Tracy Bosen. The renaissance is a double whammy, with the first boost coming from a new business. “We're really excited to announce the fact that Kinro Industries is going to be moving into town and bringing 80 jobs with them. They are a manufacturer of windows and doors for the RV industry,” said Bosen. Kinro will open its doors next month, but it doesn't end there. Keystone RV has a major surge in back orders. That leaves them with a lot of work to do and a lot of money to spend, which can only mean one thing. “We really need to get more employees in here working. We're hoping to pick up production from eight a day to 10 or 12 a day. We need really strong, dedicated employees to come in here. We're looking for a good solid hundred permanent, not part time or temporary employees,” said Keystone’s Karyn Bustos. If you do the math between both places, that's 180 RV manufacturing jobs. Fleetwood cut 280 jobs. “Pendleton is an up and coming place. People should start looking at Pendleton as the place to come for jobs now,” said Bosen. |
