PENDLETON - Things are looking bright for Pendleton's circuit court. That's because they've avoided some big budget cuts.
A month ago, the courts were preparing to let go of 10 people and cut multiple days from the work week.
Now that the budget settled in better than expected, people will keep their jobs and the courts will be open the whole week. They will also be open during lunch.
“To be open to help people that have traffic tickets and they need to come in during their lunch hour. We're able to take filings that people might not have been able to get in during the 8 to 5,” said Trial Court Administrator Roy Blaine.
It's not all good news. Some staffers may have to take unpaid days off to save the state cash.
