Lower Valley -- A 20-year-old passenger is dead and a 15-year-old driver is charged with stealing a car, driving drunk and running from police.

Washington State Troopers say the car rolled about 300 feet ejecting the driver and and the passenger, Barrett Bettle. State troopers had to use a plane to find the teen after he ran into a corn field.

"Indications from that witness we believe alcohol is probably a factor in this collision. Another part of this story is that the vehicle they were driving had been reported stolen out of Yakima," says Sgt. Ed McAvoy, Washington State Patrol.

Troopers say they found the 15-year-old driver lying down in a disabled car about one-half mile from the accident. He was arrested and taken to Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. He's facing several charges including vehicular homicide.
