They pushed and pushed...and now they got their wish. There's a meeting Tuesday night to try to save the Downtown Pasco post office. The U.S. Postal Service is losing cash and needs to close thousands of offices—possibly including the one in Downtown Pasco.
Dennis Gisi with the Pasco Downtown Development Association says the office represents more than just a place to send mail.
"As far as the downtown is concerned, we're looking to drive traffic and certainly sales of downtown merchants and the post office is a vital part of trying to drive that traffic” said Gisi.
Gisi says the downtown area was slow during the 60's and 70's when the mall opened, but has since recuperated.
Tuesday night's meeting will be at the Main Pasco Post Office.
