Lawmaker's Batting Average: How Many Bills Passed this Session?

Republican Senator Mike Hewitt out of Walla Walla and Jerome Delvin in the Tri-Cities both had a pretty good batting average.

This session, 40% of the bills Hewitt was the prime sponsor of, made it to the governor's desk. For Delvin, it was 33%.

There was a bigger gap in the house. Haler has one of the highest rate of success for bills he's the prime sponsor of and freshman Representative Brad Klippert is right behind.

The two Walla Walla reps did not introduce many bills, and for Maureen Walsh, none of hers made it to the governor.

"That's not how I gauge my success is the amount of bills. This is not the year to run new legislation there's no money and already too many programs," said Walsh.

Walsh also says part of the problem is being a Republican in a Democratic majority.
