WA STATE -- Nearly every area of government suffered in the budget approved this weekend.
"It was one of the most grueling sessions I've ever witnessed and I've been over there for 17 years, and I've never seen one as tough as this years," Rep. Maureen Walsh said.
Some of the hardest hit are state government job losses, the basic health plan, and higher education.
The cuts to higher education could make it harder to get into our state's colleges.
There will be about 9,000 fewer slots available.
Colleges will be able to raise tuition.
