PASCO - The economic crisis could end up keeping kids out of college. Action News asked Democratic Senator Patty Murray what she thinks about our state balancing its checkbook by raising tuition.
"An increase of the Pell Grants amount so students can pay for it," said Murray.
We asked if she thinks that's going to be enough.
"No, there are still going to be students who are going to face this decision and I'm very worried about that, " said Senator Murray.
Murray says if states raise tuition the federal government will have to do more for students with financial aid.
The Senator was at Columbia Basin College announcing new legislation to get grant money to help students learn how to handle finances.
