CONNELL--Connell expected to get 10 million dollars to upgrade the city, to make way for more people the prison will bring.

Now it looks like they're only getting a million.

"This is the first time that the governor has whittled that figure down, we in Connell did our share. We did everything the DOC has asked us to do...so the state should pay us the money we were promised," Jim Klindworth a Connell Council Member said.

The City tells Action News that when a prison goes in, prisoner's families move into town.

They will have to add schools, fire departments and law enforcement to Connell to accommodate the added population.
