Snow Footprints Lead to More Arrests
By Rudabeh Shahbazi
RICHLAND-- Police arrested two men in a Richland house Monday, while looking for the thieves who keep breaking into boats at the Sun Down Marina.
Police say the business has been hit three times in recent weeks, with radio and stereo equipment worth thousands of dollars. Police say one of the store employees noticed footprints in the snow, and cordoned them off for police, who followed them up the road, and obtained a warrant to search the home they led to. "Sometimes the criminals don't really think about that, but their shoes alone, especially in the snow, can leave a trail of evidence from where they've been, to where they are going," said Richland Police Officer Rick Kane. Footprint clues were also used as evidence last week, when Richland Police caught vandals by following the tracks. |
