Linda Pasco owns the Lemongrass gift shop, and says that although she expects sales to drop a few percentage points, she feels lucky to be insulated from national economic woes.
"Most of our customers are still employed," said Pasco. "They haven't lost their homes, so we feel a little bit safer."
Pasco says more people are using credit cards and buying more practical gifts this year, instead of the usual holiday splurging. She also noted there were fewer shopping days in December this year.
