Furniture Prices Come Down
By Rudabeh Shahbazi
RICHLAND-- There is an upside to the economic crisis for some shoppers.
Furniture prices have dropped about 10 percent since gas prices went down. A few months ago, home furnishings were more expensive because distributors had to pay sky-high gas prices for shipping and delivery. Furniture retailers were hit extra hard because cushions and foam are petroleum based-- but now they're getting some relief. "Since we ship with them so much, they've been really good about coming back and giving us all little bit more now that pricing has come down, so we're able to offer that discount back to the customer," said Model Home Furniture Manager Jared Larsen. |
