PASCO, Wash. - The man accused of shooting his neighbor in the stomach following an argument did not speak. A not guilty plea was entered on his behalf by defense attorney James Egan in Superior Court today.

Campos-Gonzalez, Jr. is still behind bars following the December 8 incident. His bail is set at $250,000. While in court his attorney tried to have bail set lower stating that the current amount is meant to keep him locked up.

The prosecuting attorney and judge did not agree indicating that Campos-Gonzalez, Jr. is a risk to the community. Bail was left as is.

The defendant will be back in court next week. It will be decided then if he should undergo a mental health evaluation.

The shooting victim remains in the hospital.
