RICHLAND - A blogger turned council candidate. When the Richland mayor announced he was stepping down, it sparked the interest of an online politico.

Jim McCabe is running as a write-in candidate for the Richland city council seat. And he's already got signs up around Richland.

He runs a political blog www.mccranium.org. McCabe says he decided to run when he realized the voters weren't the ones to pick the open seat, because Rob Welch was running un-opposed. That means the city council chooses the mayor.

McCabe isn't sure what he'd do with his website if he gets elected. He tells us, it might have to change a bit, not as much political venting.
