KENNEWICK, Wash. -- It's week two of the government shutdown and WorkSource here in the Tri-Cities is seeing an impact.

Eighty-seven percent of their funds are federally funded. Sixteen of their 25 employees are feeling the pinch. Two veteran specialists have been furloughed. Others are seeing reduced hours. In fact, the administrator's hours have been cut by 30%.

"At this time, we probably have a good handle on it, but who knows what could happen, but like I said, we're focusing to make sure that we provide the services to our customers, our customers are our first concern," said WorkSource Administrator, Joe Perez.

WorkSource has been trying fill a vacant position but that will have to wait until the shutdown ends.
