TRI-CITIES, Wash. -- Kids being treated at Kadlec were treated to a visit from members of the WSU Cougar baseball team Tuesday. A dozen players toured the pediatric unit and visited with young patients to brighten up their day.

"Giving back to the community is something that we try to do not only in Pullman, but almost everywhere we go, and having this opportunity to kind of shed light on somebody's day, especially when they're having not such a great day, is really special," said senior pitcher Tanner Chleboard.

"It's awesome. I've been here the last three years. Whenever we come down for Pasco, it's one of the things I look the most forward to is coming here and, you know, chatting with the kids and kind of making their day. It's fun for us, and it's fun for them," said shortstop Trace Tam Sing.

The Cougars play BYU in the Diamond Classic Tuesday night at Gesa Stadium at 6:30.
