Homicide ruled out for man found dead in Pasco motel
PASCO, Wash. -- The Franklin County Coroner says Pete Martinez, 61, was not the victim of a homicide. Martinez was found dead in a Pasco motel Tuesday. He died from smoke inhalation. An autopsy confirmed Martinez was not partially-burned, but that his body was covered in soot.

Pasco police were initially investigating this as a homicide, but now the coroner is calling the manner of death is "undetermined." By Friday, the coroner had ruled out homicide as a cause of death.

Martinez's room was partially-burned at the Tahitian Inn at 28th and W. Lewis. A maid found the body.

It's not yet clear how the fire started.

Martinez had moved to the Tri-Cities about five months ago.
