Two different fires in Tri-Cities
TRI-CITIES -- Emergency crews were called to two separate fires a short time apart this afternoon.

Firefighters arrived first at an apartment on Tweedt Street in Kennewick. Neighbors reported smelling smoke and seeing flames on a balcony.

Rescuers knocked it down quickly before it spread. No one was in the apartment when the fire started.

And no sooner did they get the Kennewick fire put out-- another fire broke out in Pasco just off 28th Street at the trailer park near the Blue Bridge.

Witnesses told police they saw a stranger in the area shortly before the fire started. Lots of smoke but crews also put this one out quickly.

No one was hurt in either case.
