Tri-Cities Cancer Center makes "million-dollar" announcement
KENNEWICK, Wash. -- The Tri-Cities Cancer Center literally made a "million-dollar" announcement Friday afternoon.

For the first time in the 20-year history of the center, the nonprofit raised more than $1 million in a calendar year.

The total was almost $1.2 million. $700,000 will be put back into support programs to help families of cancer patients.

Reps with the center say they owe everything to our generous Tri-City community.

"This is huge because the community is such a great supporter of the Cancer Center and the families of cancer patients. Every year, people in the community just decide that they're going to do something to support the Cancer Center patients," says foundation president Rick Millikin.

A bulk of the money is also being used to fund medical systems around the center.

Almost $400,000 was put into the Tri-Cities Cancer Center endowment.
