Snow plows turn to old standby to keep roads clear
TRI-CITIES, Wash. -- Plows are ready to work round the clock as we're in the midst of this one-two punch.

Plows have been on the roads since Thursday afternoon and crews quickly realized de-icer wasn't working. It was just too cold.

"We made a transition into more of a sand program. It's been quite some time since since we've had to actually use sand, but we have no choice," says WSDOT Supervisor Mark Brewster.

The cities have a priority list for which streets will be plowed first, starting with main roads.
