Pendleton woman beaten while walking recovering
Area where Lange was assaulted
PORTLAND, OR. -- An update on the Pendleton woman who was randomly beaten in Pendleton.

Doctors planned to remove part of her skull to treat an infection. Karen Lange is now breathing on her own and can open one of her eyes. Doctors think she will survive her injuries. Her husband tells KEPR she is in good spirits. Police believe Lange was attacked by a homeless man whose DNA was matched to a murder in Pendleton last summer.

The man known as "Danny Wu" is still wanted.
