Pedestrian walkway filled with criminal activity in Kennewick
KENNEWICK, Wash. - Neighbors in Kennewick are close to having a dangerous nuisance shut down.

The city is looking to seal up a pedestrian walkway.

Kennewick added the walkway off Lyle Street and 26th Ave. It was built as a passage for kids to get to school before there were sidewalks on 27th Avenue.

The area is now over grown. It's fenced up but that hasn't stopped illegal activity from congregating here.

Dan Holguin said, "It's not kept up any more, I won't say major but there's minor criminal activity going on through there and I think it's about time they close it down."

The walkway didn't cost the city anything to put in so there's no loss to take it out.

Council will make a final decision in a couple weeks.
