No reply for superintendent's letter
RICHLAND, Wash. - We first told you about a retirement letter Jim Busey sent to the school board.
It said he would step down when his contract expired and demanded Busey be returned to his post as head of the district.
School board president Rick Jansons says the letter does not change the investigation and the board will not be responding to Busey's demands.

The 'investigation' for all intents and purposes IS complete, in spite of Jansens claim to the contrary.Â
Â
The School Board needs to quickly 'formalize' it, explain that it contains no bases for further actions by the Board. Noting that all the details of the investigation, including the original written complaint will not be released due to its private nature.
Â
If there is any admonishment or reprimand issued by the Administration, it's Human Resources Department or the School Board, it will remain a private matter and will not be released to the public.
Â
Furthermore the Richland School Board should apologize to its constituents for the distracting slowness of their actions at a time when their focus should have been on the much more serious challenges District.Â
Â
What should be released to the public are the voting records of Board members on the various decisions that prompted the twists and turns in the handling of this issue.  The public has a right to know, who wanted to initially support Busey, who believed he was in legal violation of his contract ,who pushed for the 'quiet resolution' and who was instrumental in the satisfactory resolution of the matter, with minimal blood-letting. Â
Â
Don't we have a right to know how our each of our elected representatives conducted themselves on this issue?
