PASCO, Wash. -- Neighbors were just calling it a night on North Cedar Avenue, when a car load of men opened fire on a teen and her ten year old sister leaving a BBQ.

"We heard about 7 or 8 shots fired," said Miguel Castillo. He was the first one on the scene. The rolling drive by happened right outside his front door.

He continues, "All I can tell you is there's blood everywhere."

Shots aimed at the teen missed. Bullets grazed her head, enough to cut it open. The young girl wasn't hit by gun fire at all. She had cuts from the shattered car windows.

Miguel and his wife, Margarita Castillo, ran out of their house when they heard the shots. They helped pull both girls out of the car and dragged them into their home. The couple wanted to keep them safe until help arrived.

The only thing shooters were worried about was getting away from cops. They raced away from the scene down Parkway and crashed into a fence, narrowly missing the house behind it.

The tire tracks are still in the yard where they ditched their car. That was their biggest mistake. By leaving the vehicle behind police were able to search and get clues to find out who they are.

Captain Jim Raymond with Pasco PD said, "We've got all the pieces. We just need to now identify who the persons are that are involved."

Police say they are definitely gang members. Cops on the scene Wednesday night said the girl who was shot is also a gang member.

Officers are not surprised witnesses won't cooperate. They really never do when gangs are involved.

Miguel and Margarita worry they're seeing this kind of trouble more often in east Pasco.

Margarita said, "My little one was telling us, oh there's a shooting outside - Pow! Pow! Pow!"

They'd made up their minds to move out before this happened.
