Mailboxes destroyed in Kennewick

Mailboxes destroyed in Kennewick
KENNEWICK, Wash. - A house on Garfield was targeted twice. There was also an explosion on Olympia.

Authorities say plastic bottles were filled with Drano sink cleaner and capped off with tin foil.

This causes a chemical reaction that will explode, which could hurt an unsuspecting person checking their mail.

Kay Ragsdale opened one of the mailboxes. She said, "There was lots of liquid everywhere and yeah. It was a strong smell and so we had to call the cops and we told the mail person and yeah it was a disaster."

No injuries were reported so far. This is no child's play. Messing with a mailbox could get you federal charges.
