Law enforcement gets educated on metal theft
TRI-CITIES - Local cops have a new way to target metal thieves.

They plan to work together after participating in a joint training class.

Lieutenant Terry Alling who taught the program said it will be beneficial to all the agencies.

"They're going to be able to network together, something they haven't been able to rally do. to have all that knowledge, to share all that information and to coordinate all these things, maybe do some operations together, to work together, things like that," he says.

Reps from almost every law enforcement agency met today for the training by outside experts.

Officials from Franklin and Benton County say while they are not seeing a rise in the number of metal thefts, they do expect the number to increases with the warmer weather.
