KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Kids at Eastgate Elementary got a "warm" visit today from some Kennewick Firefighters.

Fire engines pulled up to droves of waiting first graders. They all received winter coats.

The giveaway was part of the the department's "Warm Coats for Kids" Campaign. Altogether, almost 100 coats were given out. Kids we spoke with were happy to get their new jackets.

"I feel that I'm going to use it for winter and every day! Thank you Kennewick Fire Department for my new jacket!" says Esrael Mendoza.

The kids also got a chance to play on the fire engines.

The fire department says it chose Eastgate Elementary because that school has the highest number of students who receive free and reduced lunches.
