PASCO, Wash. -- Blink and you might have missed the construction around the Franklin county jail.

Construction is coming along so well, builders say they could be two months ahead of schedule. The new jail will feature state-of-the-art monitoring systems and hold 200 more inmates.

Jail supervisors say the building couldn't be finished faster.

"Technology and architecture differences are totally different than the old facility was. but that's how we change from 1985 to 2013," says Captain Rick Long,

The building is being paid for by the so-called "crime tax" voters approved back in 2011. The new facility will double the amount of space for inmates. The jail should be ready by spring of next year.
