Firefighters contain brush fire in Kennewick
KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Smoke could be seen in Richland Tuesday afternoon from a brush fire in the Southridge area. It started around Thompson Hill and was under control within a few hours.

Heavy smoke caused a temporary shutdown of U.S. 395 near I-82.

Crews tell KEPR the fire was started accidentally by farm workers in the area. It burned about 100 acres before it was contained.

Benton County firefighters expect to stay out at the scene for several more hours to make sure the fire is all the way out.
