RICHLAND, Wash. - A 15-acre brush fire stopped traffic along G-Way this afternoon. It was very smokey near Hanford High School.

It took multiple crews about an hour to knock it down. Most of the area was sagebrush and trees.

This area has been a known problem area for the Richland Fire Department. Crews tell KEPR that's actually a good thing.

They knew exactly what to expect when they arrived.

Chief Ted Ricci with the Richland Fire Department said,"As far as the homes and what not, we've got enough apparatus on the scene to handle that. Our main concern is spreading it into other open wildlife areas and trying to stop it."

There were no reports of anyone getting hurt or any property damage.
