TRI-CITIES, Wash. - The goal has been a regional dispatch center. Franklin County now has $100,000 to put towards the effort.
The money would hire a project manager.
Franklin County is also switching equipment to the more-advanced systems used by Benton County.
Ed Bush, Communications Director for Franklin County, said, "You're looking at maybe 6-12 months so we can put that process together and have a facility that benefits all of Tri-Cities and our emergency service agencies."
County directors are also looking to include Walla Walla in their new plans.
