KENNEWICK, Wash. -- A car crashed right through a church Thursday afternoon in Kennewick, injuring the driver. The car went in one side and out the other.

Police say the man driving suffered a medical episode while on Highway 395. The passenger grabbed the wheel and veered the car off the road and into the church.

Police say the car was probably going more than 40 miles an hour when it went through Highway Tabernacle. Luckily, no one inside was in the path of destruction.

"I had no idea. I'm only 50 feet from it, didn't realize it came through the church. I thought it was all out there. Didn't sound that loud," said neighbor Dale Streeter.

The driver went to the hospital. Police say the passenger saved lives by taking the car off the main road.
