Convicted child abuser closer to a new trial
FRANKLIN COUNTY, Wash. - A mom convicted of assaulting her baby was in court today.

Olga Shved was found guilty back in 2009.

Her baby had broken limbs and skull fractures that were hidden with make-up.

A technicality during sentencing started the whole case over.

The court set a new trial later this summer. Shved faces assault charges. The child is no longer in her mother's care.

Her defense attorney says new evidence will show the baby was born with abnormalities and was not abused.
