Cinnabon robbery a hoax

Cinnabon robbery a hoax
KENNEWICK, Wash. - An employee said she was attacked in a back hallway. Now police say it was all a hoax.

The woman who works at Cinnabon claimed she was held up at gunpoint and the store deposits stolen. Mirella Garza even had injuries that sent her to the hospital.

A few days later, police say Garza came in to admit she had made the whole thing up.

Mike Blatman with KPD said, "She finally came in and spoke to detectives voluntarily on New Year's Day and as a result of that in questioning and interrogation she admitted that she was involved in the theft."

Police say Garza told them she was having money problems. Some of the cash was recovered but not all.

To get all sides we checked with Cinnabon on the status of her employment but no one could comment.
