Child abuse in Richland

Child abuse in Richland
RICHLAND, Wash. - A troubling case of child abuse is being investigated in Richland.

Police would release very few details but we did learn it involves a six month old baby.

The infant was brought to kadlec a few weeks ago and sent to Spokane. She has a skull fracture.

Police tell us it's consistent with some kind of abusive trauma. The baby is expected to recover. She was released to her mother.

Police would not say if the mother was cleared or if she's a suspect.

Capt. Mike Cobb said, "We also have to detach ourselves a little bit from that outrage in order to get that objectivity we need to get a good thorough investigation."

Police won't say who else might have been in the home or where in Richland this happened.

CPS is working closely with detectives to potentially make an arrest.
