KENNEWICK, Wash. -- When you're in an area that's growing as much as the Tri-Cities, no doubt they'll be some pretty unique conventions coming to town.

Take this weekend's wood carving con-fab.

The art show brought in wood enthusiasts from all over the northwest. The event featured everything from amateur wood carvings, to professional chainsaw cut wood statues.

Event organizer Jerry Dilley says wood carving can be for everyone.

"I think the important thing is that if someone comes and actually gets an opportunity to do a little carving, they usually stay."

The Tri-Cities wood carvers association put on the event.

They have weekly meetings at the Kennewick senior center where woodcarvers of any skill set are welcome to join.
