New car sales up

New car sales up
TRI-CITIES, Wash. -- New car sales can be an indicator of the economy.

KEPR learned that across the nation, car dealers are seeing the highest numbers they've seen in six years.

That's even creating a delay in actually receiving a new car. That hasn't been an issue here in the Tri-Cities.

But one dealer told us sales are up by nearly two-thirds to numbers they haven't seen in nearly a decade.

"There is a huge demand for new cars and it's been building. it's been building all year. year to date, we're up about 25 percent in new vehicle sales," says Bill Robertson of Bill Robertson Nissan.

Mid-size cars and light trucks are the biggest sellers right now.
