Car sales strong in Tri-Cities
TRI-Cities -- Auto sales in the US rebounded in May after a dip in April, but locally, auto dealers are having a great year.

New and used car sales have made about a 15 percent jump since this time last year. Dealers here say while sales were down nationally during the month of April, they saw one of their best months on record.

Many people held off on buying new cars as a result of the recession, so now-- the number of used cars on the market is down.

"Some of the best values you'll see right now are actually in new cars. which is a little bit counter-intuitive. it's almost un-heard of," says John Inman of Mercedes-Benz of Tri-Cities.

Analysts forecast US sales will rise seven percent in May from the same time last year-- adding up to 1.4 sales. Which would put the industry back on pace to have an average year.
