TRI-CITIES, Wash. -- More than 200 people came out to Columbia Basin College Monday to honor Martin Luther King, Jr. It's been 50 years since Dr. King gave his famous "I have a dream" speech.
The college held its 23rd annual bell-ringing ceremony. Keynote speaker was executive director of our local WorkSource, Cos Edwards. We asked kids what King meant to them.
"He basically let colored people and white people come together. If Martin Luther King Jr. hadn't done that then my teacher wouldn't be able to teach all of us in our class today," said student Jason Mateson.
After the bell-ringing, kids went inside to do arts & crafts that taught them more about MLK.
