Attempted abduction in West Richland
WEST RICHLAND, Wash. - Officers combed the neighborhood near the 5000 block of Holly Way looking for a newer model Chrysler 300.

The 12-year old told police she was playing outside when two men stopped their car and told her to get in. The girl was able to run away.

Police are actively investigating this as an attempted abduction although they are uncommon in our area.

Capt. Al Escalera, West Richland Police said, "When it does happen it's major, it's of major importance that you contact us immediately. It's very difficult to investigate those to begin with. Obviously it's very emotional for everyone involved."

KEPR did speak with neighbors. They didn't want to go on camera but said they are working with police to make sure their neighborhood is safe.
