PASCO -- Blue ribbons, leashes, and trainers. We just did a story about dogs, but this next piece is about something far more fury. Around 400 alpacas and their trainers hit the TRAC Center for the Northwest Alpaca Showcase.

Much like a dog show, the alpacas were judged by their fleece, build, and stature. Trainers and spectators alike were pleased with the success of the event.

"It provides an economic benefit for the area and there's a lot of visitors that come in and a lot of the young kids that are coming in and learning about alpacas and learning about live stock," says trainer Karen Koszuta.

The showcase also featured goods made from alpacas. This was the seventh time the event has come to the Tri-Cities. Organizers tell us they will be back next year.
