KENNEWICK, Wash. - Middle school teachers in Kennewick got a lesson playing in the dirt.

Science teachers from around the district teamed up with McBones.

The group is working on un-earthing a mammoth fossil from the side of a hill.

This was a day for them to learn. Hoping to bring skills back to their students.

Teacher Linda Barnes said, "Real life with the fossils. They can get hands on experience with just what archaeologists and paleontologists actually do in the field."

Teachers hope to bring their students out to the dig soon, to get experience for themselves.
