PASCO -- There was severe damage to a Pasco home that caught fire this morning.
The fire started on Waldemar Avenue in East Pasco. Fire Crews from five-different agencies were called to help.

Firefighters realized immediately the fire was spreading quickly. Pasco Fire Chief Dave Hare knew the fire could get out of control.

"We called our second alarm even before our first alarm arrived. We had pretty good recognition that this was going to be more than we could deal with on our first alarm event."

The house was empty when the fire started. A dog was pulled out alive.

Crews are looking for a cause.
