Schrammie: How did he get so spiteful?

SEATTLE -- He’s not likely to succeed, but he should still get recognition for trying.

Personally, I think he should get all the credit he deserves.

And so I’d like to ask Ben Schroeter to put his Red Devil sparklers back in the box and come on down.

Ben’s the grumpy malcontent who says he's worried about tens of thousands of people showing up at Gasworks Park to watch the Lake Union 4th of July fireworks display.

Ben, or “Mr. Mean” as I like to call him, filed a lawsuit demanding the city first conduct an environmental assessment on the basis that all those people could be kicking up all sorts of dangerous chemicals.

Mr. Mean contends that the City of Seattle is obligated to review how much tainted sediment might be kicked up by all those gathered to ooh and ah over the dazzling display of pyrotechnics.

He admits he’d probably be seen as the most hated person in Seattle if his civic concern ends up stopping the fireworks show, but Ben remains undaunted.

Actually, I feel sorry for you Ben.

There must be something seriously absent in your life for you to have become such a spiteful person.

I hope this “Schrammie” cheers you up a bit.

If not, well, that’s even better.
