Shakespeare Walla Walla

One of the country’s top wine destinations is also home to world-class performing arts, and theatergoers have much reason to celebrate this summer as Shakespeare Walla Walla kicks off its fifth season on Aug. 2. Staged at the historic Power House Theatre in downtown Walla Walla, Shakespeare Walla Walla presents The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) featuring three actors who portray more than 100 characters as they race through all of Shakespeare’s 37 plays in less than two hours. The festival also brings Romeo and Juliet to its stage, the beloved story of two star-crossed lovers. Both shows will be performed in rotating repertory throughout the month, with final performances set for Aug. 26. Tickets, which start at just $9 for adult and $7 for youth, are available online at shakespearewallawalla.org or by calling 509-529-6500.
