Troy joined the Action News Team in June of 2008. He brings with him more than six years of professional radio experience as well as six years of television news and weather forecasting experience.

Troy was born in the Mid-West, but soon, he and his family traded winter blizzards and spring tornadoes for the sweltering heat of Phoenix, Arizona where he stayed for more than 20 years.

Troy began his professional broadcasting career in Phoenix as a radio disc jockey where he held on-air positions at both KSLX-FM (classic rock) and KBUQ-FM (country at the time).

After nearly 7 years in the radio business, Troy decided to follow his true passion(s), journalism and weather. Troy is a graduate of The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University where he earned a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Physical Geography (Meteorology).

While attending ASU, Troy worked for ABC affiliate KNXV-TV in Phoenix as a Weather Producer and Production Assistant.

Troy's first on-air television job took him to Southern Oregon. He spent three years providing morning and midday weather forecasts for ABC affiliate KDRV-TV in Medford, Oregon.

Troy's next adventure led him to El Paso, Texas where he was a weather forecaster and news reporter at ABC affilliate KVIA-TV.

Troy is very excited to be back in the beautiful Northwest and to be part of the Action News Team. Watch Action News, Monday through Friday from 5:30am until 7am to catch Troy's forecast and get the day's news too.
