A California native, John was born and raised in San Diego before heading to the East Coast for college. John attended Villanova University in Pennsylvania where he earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in a 5-year program. His B.A. was a double major in Communication and Humanities, with a Spanish minor, and his M.A. was in Communication with certificates in Journalism & New Media as well as Organizational Communication & Leadership.

While a student at Villanova, John had the opportunity to complete a year- long internship at WPHL 17’s morning show, Eye Opener, in Philadelphia. Through this incredible hands-on experience John found his passion for news reporting and how it can impact people’s lives. At WPHL John worked on many stories, one of his favorites was on Hurricane Sandy recovery.

John is happy to be back on the west coast and starting his career in Yakima. He looks forward to exploring the outdoor activities the region offers. He would love to hear from you, so feel free to email him with any story ideas or to say hello!
