Tyler Slauson is excited to continue his career in his home state of Washington. Born in Spokane, Tyler is a graduate of the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University (Go Cougs!). During his time at WSU, Tyler got experience in front and behind the camera at Pullman's Cable 8 News. There he worked as a news, weather and sports anchor, reporter and producer.

Before KIMA/KEPR, Tyler worked as a producer/web editor for the ABC affiliate in Spokane. He also wrote for 17 "Your Community" websites that focus on each neighborhood in the Inland Northwest. Tyler first started at KXLY as an intern during his senior year of college.

He's not sure what but something drew him to the news even at a young age. Tyler got his first taste of journalism during high school with Spokane's Spokesman-Review as the editor of a student newspaper called "the Vox."

Tyler is a big fan of Cougar athletics and all Seattle sports teams! He couldn't be more excited to start his career not far from home in the beautiful Yakima Valley.
