PASCO, Wash. --Thanks to the Salvation Army, dozens of underprivileged kids are now equipped for the first day of school.

Backpacks filled with donated school supplies were loaded up with pencils, notebooks and binders. These are supplies they might not have otherwise.

For Salvation Army volunteer Ana Avila, it's rewarding to help those in need.

"My parents had to look for resources within the community and Salvation Army was there to provide that to us. For me, to help pay that forward to my community means a lot," said Ana.

The charity always welcomes donations. Their next big fundraiser will be for Christmas. Donation boxes will be coming soon.
