As Pasco School District is in the process of finishing, Richland School District begins.

RSD held their first public input session on elementary boundaries Thursday night. Parents met at Carmichael Elementary to discuss parameters the district will use to draw boundaries later this year.

It's the very first process in what will take nearly a year and officials hope they hear from you.

“This is the first step in that process,” said Mike Hansen, Richland School District. “We're looking for input from the parents in the community in what we ought to be considering when redrawing boundaries.”

Public input will continue at the next two school board meetings. The district hopes to have their first maps drafted by September 11th. They expect a final decision November 25th.
